Learning objectives

Course description: 

In this course, the basics of the human sensorimotor system and the possibility of influencing it with an active foot orthotic treatment approach will be highlighted including scientific knowledge and case studies. 

The basics of gait and posture analysis, as well as the information to be gained about patients from them, will be addressed. Orthopedic aids such as orthopedic insoles can be a way to treat pain passively and actively. In combination with other physiotherapeutic measures, they can play a decisive role in alleviating complaints. 

Course learnings: 

  • Basics of the human sensorimotor system 
  • The seminar participants will review musculoskeletal structures and their function with emphasis on the foot and leg muscles 
  • Gained an understanding of the general principle of action and construction of active foot orthotics as simple introduction to sensorimotor treatment 
  • Get in insight into the research behind 
  • Receive demonstrations of case studies
